The international standard for aluminized zinc steel sheets has been released, marking a major breakthrough for China
ISO 8353:2024 "Continuous Hot-dip Galvanized Aluminum-Magnesium Alloy Coated Steel Sheets and Steel Strips for Commodity Grade, stamping Grade and Structural Grade", led by China, has been officially approved and released. This standard was proposed at a relevant international standardization organization meeting in 2018. After years of discussion, consultation and arduous efforts, it was successfully approved for project initiation and finally completed. This is the first international standard led by our country in ISO/TC17/SC12, and it is also the first project formulated by this organization in nearly 20 years. Hot-dip galvanized aluminum-magnesium alloy coated steel sheet and strip products have attracted much attention from global steel enterprises due to their excellent corrosion resistance, high comprehensive cost performance and wide application range. After the successful research and development by Chinese enterprises, the drafting working group actively promoted the development of international standards, filling the gap of relevant international standards and greatly enhancing the international influence of Chinese enterprises in this product field. Galvalume Steel is widely used in industries such as construction, home appliances and automobiles. Its excellent performance provides a reliable guarantee for the products. The release of this international standard will further regulate the market and promote the healthy development of the Galvalume steel industry.
Many countries have launched trade investigations into Steel Products, affecting Galvanized Steel plates and the like
On October 29, 2024, at the request of domestic enterprises, the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of Egypt initiated an anti-dumping investigation into imported cold-rolled coil, galvanized coil and color-coated coil steel products originating from or imported from Turkey and China. The products involved include Galvanized Steel, etc. The dumping investigation period is from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024, and the injury investigation period is from January 1, 2021 to June 30, 2024. In addition, on November 20, 2024, the Foreign Trade Department of the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand initiated the second anti-dumping sunset review investigation on cold-rolled Stainless Steel coils, sheets and strips originating from China. These trade investigations pose challenges to the export of related steel products from our country. Steel enterprises need to closely follow the progress of the investigations and actively respond to safeguard their own legitimate rights and interests.
