The development trends of diversified materials in the steel industry
In today's industrial materials field, a variety of high-performance steels and metal materials are constantly being innovated, leading the development trends of various industries.
Galvalume Steel, as one of the industry focuses, stands out with its unique manufacturing process. It is based on cold-rolled steel plates and solidified at a high temperature of 600°C, consisting of 55% aluminium, 43.4% zinc and 1.6% silicon. This special alloy combination endows it with both the physical protection and high durability of aluminium as well as the electrochemical protection performance of zinc. Its excellent corrosion resistance is more than three times that of Galvanized Steel plates. Moreover, since the density of 55% aluminium is less than that of zinc, under the same weight and coating thickness, the area of aluminized zinc steel sheet is 3% or more larger than that of Galvanized Steel Sheet. This material is widely used in industrial panels, building roofs and walls, and is also commonly found in the manufacturing of automotive parts and other fields.
When it comes to Galvanized Steel, it significantly enhances rust and corrosion resistance by coating the surface of steel with a layer of zinc. The galvanizing process is generally divided into three stages: surface pretreatment, zinc bath immersion and post-treatment. After this series of processes, a zinc coating with a thickness of 0.5 to 3.9 mils is formed on the surface of the steel, effectively resisting erosion from the external environment. According to different production processes, galvanized steel is further classified into various types such as hot-dip galvanized steel, electro-galvanized steel, hot-dip galvanized annealed steel, pre-galvanized steel and continuous galvanized steel. Hot-dip galvanized steel is the most common type. By immersing steel in molten zinc liquid, a zinc-iron alloy layer is formed, providing excellent durability guarantees for large-scale structures such as industrial infrastructure and Bridges. Electro-galvanized steel utilizes electrochemical principles to deposit a zinc coating of precise thickness on the surface of steel, making it suitable for the manufacturing of automotive panels and electronic casings that have extremely high requirements for surface finish.
Aluminum Coil/Pipe/Plate occupies an important position in the field of lightweight and high-strength materials. The low density of aluminium makes it light in weight without affecting its good strength and corrosion resistance. Aluminum coils are often used in the packaging industry, which can effectively protect products and enhance the aesthetic appeal of packaging. Aluminum tubes are widely used in fields with strict requirements for material performance, such as aerospace and automotive manufacturing, providing crucial support for various precision equipment and transportation vehicles. Aluminum Plates play an indispensable role in building curtain walls, heat dissipation of electronic devices and other aspects.
Stainless Steel is renowned far and wide for its excellent anti-rust and anti-corrosion properties. It contains alloying elements such as chromium and nickel, which form a dense oxide film on the surface of the steel, preventing the erosion of oxygen and moisture, thus ensuring that the steel can maintain stable performance in various harsh environments. From kitchenware to high-end medical devices, from architectural decoration to chemical equipment, stainless steel is everywhere, meeting the strict requirements of different industries for the aesthetics, durability and hygiene of materials.
Aluzinc Steel is similar to Galvalume Steel. It also combines the advantages of aluminium and zinc and shows good application prospects in industries such as construction and home appliances. Its unique alloy coating not only provides excellent anti-corrosion protection but also has good processing performance, allowing for easy operations such as stamping and bending, bringing more flexibility to product design and manufacturing.
Prepainted Steel adds rich colors and additional protection to the steel. It is based on galvanized or aluminized zinc steel plates, and after surface pretreatment, it is coated with organic paint to form a coating with decorative and corrosion-resistant properties. Color-coated steel sheets are widely used in areas such as building roofs, walls, and the shells of home appliances. They not only meet the diverse demands for building appearances but also extend the service life of steel and reduce maintenance costs.
With the continuous improvement of the requirements for material performance in various industries, Materials such as Galvalume Steel, Galvanized Steel, Aluminum Coil/Pipe/Plate, Stainless Steel, Aluzinc Steel and Prepainted Steel will continue to innovate and develop. Inject continuous impetus into industrial progress and drive all industries to new heights.
